TERRACE GLEN APARTMENTS

Tigard, Oregon

Completed in 2023, Terrace Glen Apartments is a 144-unit affordable multi-family housing community located in the Metzger neighborhood, serving low and very low-income residents. The project was developed by Related Northwest, with financial support from Metro's affordable housing bond, Metro's transit-oriented development program, and various county and state funding sources.

Terrace Glen Apartments consist of two strategically positioned four-story buildings on a sloping site, creating a central courtyard with communal space and parking along the site's perimeter. A range of unit types were designed to provide housing opportunities for a variety of family sizes. The available units range from studios to one, two, three, and four-bedroom apartments, including three units designated for permanent supportive housing for homeless youth.

The development features many amenities and on-site services for the residents. Within the central courtyard, there is a children's playground surrounded by shaded tables and chairs for socializing. The buildings have a community room equipped with a demonstration kitchen, a teen lounge, an arts and crafts space, and shared laundry facilities. Residents can access on-site supportive services and art and educational classes, as well as immigrant and refugee services, located within the facility. The project is also located conveniently near public transportation and restaurant, retail and healthcare services.

Walsh Construction was the General Contractor for the project. Terrace Glen Apartments recieved an Earth Advantage Multifamily Certification for sustainable design and construction.
