Completed in 2015 for Essex Real Estate Investment Trust, this new 23-story, 510,000 sq ft mixed-use tower was the first significant construction project in downtown San Jose, California, after the 2009 recession. It houses 312 apartment units with a residential lobby, leasing office, ground floor retail and seven floors of parking. An LED strip lighting feature outlines the entry canopy, extends up the façade and frames the parapet of the building to emphasize the verticality of the structure.
