Completed in 2017, this 6-story, 59 unit, 49,000 sq ft infill apartment building is located in the Kerns neighborhood in Northeast Portland, Oregon. The project offers an amenity deck on the 5th floor with views of the city skyline, and an onsite coffee shop accessible from the residential lobby. It incorporates a leasing office, retail space, internal bike storage and parking garage. The building has a modern form and uses a simple pushing and pulling of the mass to define the residential apartments from the ground floor retail and public spaces. This is also further articulated in the changing of materials from brick and metal panel at the residential floors to storefront glazing and cast-in-place concrete at the ground floor retail.
